Job Description

PHP Backend Developer


Job Responsibilities


  • Research, analyse, develop, test and deploy new or enhance existing features
  • Document/create processes
  • Communicate any new features or processes with the team
  • Write clean, test driven, easily maintainable, modular code
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications
  • Perform backend tests to optimize performance
  • Collaborate with mobile developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
  • Gather and address technical and design requirements
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Liaise with developers, designers and system administrators to identify new features
  • Follow emerging technologies
  • Integrate and maintain various API connections

Qualifications:


  • Expert experience with PHP 7+
  • Experience with object-oriented frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, Codeignitor, Yii, etc.)
  • Experience with Laravel 5+/Symfony 5+ strongly preferred
  • Experience with Javascript is a plus
  • Experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL a strong plus
  • Excellent communication skills geared towards communicating with both technical and non-technical parts of the team, acting as translator where needed
  • Proven work experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML
  • Ability to find patterns to automate redundant manual tasks
  • Linux console skills/CLI tools
  • In-depth understanding of the entire development process (design, development, QA, deployment)
  • Excellent analytical and time management skills
  • Teamwork skills with a resourceful problem-solving attitude
  • Experience using git and Github platform
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
